SÖLICITÖR Sign With Gates Of Hell Records; Re-Release Of Debut EP Coming This Fall

Seattle speed metal upstarts SÖLICITÖR have inked a deal with Gates Of Hell Records for the reissue of their debut 2019 EP, with a proper full-length album to follow next spring.

Formed in 2018 after the split of Seattle bands SUBSTRATUM and HEXENGEIST, SÖLICITÖR plays a brand of breakneck thrash carried through by the banshee vocals of Amy Lee Carlson. Because of Carlson’s presence and the band’s seamless blend of power, speed and thrash metal, SÖLICITÖR will immediately appeal to fans of CHASTAIN, LIEGE LORD, MERCYFUL FATE, EXCITER and “Painkiller”-era JUDAS PRIEST.

SÖLICITÖR, who are rounded out by the guitar tandem of Matthew Vogan and Patrick Fry, bassist Damon Cleary-Erickson and drummer Johann Waymire, had the deck stacked against them when choosing their name. Like so many current bands, the number of good names available is dwindling, but in a prescient move, SÖLICITÖR chose a name that wouldn’t pigeonhole them, while including the always vaunted umlaut in the fashion of MOTÖRHEAD and MÖTLEY CRÜE.

“We didn’t have many choices to pick from as far as originality or graphic simplicity,” says Carlson. “Single words and a bold logo almost always work best regardless of the name itself. It’s ambiguous and gives no clue as to what we might sound like. Plus, it’s kind of sleazy and makes you wonder who the hell we are.”

The band’s correspondence with Gates Of Hell started when SUBSTRATUM was still active. But once Carlson sent over some initial demo tracks, SÖLICITÖR quickly became the newest member of the Gates Of Hell roster. Their first release for the label will be the reissue of their self-titled debut EP, which was recorded by Cody J. Brumlow of WEAPONLORD in Mountlake Terrace at Hangar 12 Studios. “Matthew had a handful of songs on the backburner, and once Patrick got a hold of them, things progressed quickly,” notes Carlson on how the EP came together. “We had nothing holding us back and everything to prove — we’re hungry for whatever comes next and we hope to keep delivering with vengeance.”

While SÖLICITÖR lays the groundwork for their first full-length album, the band is currently laying to waste audiences across Canada and the Midwestern part of the United States. Before you know it, the band will be bringing their firebrand take on thrash metal overseas.

“We’ll be playing with ROADRASH from Vancouver and SEAX from Massachusetts in Seattle, and for our Portland date in September, we’ll be joined by BEWITCHER,” wraps Carlson. “We were just confirmed for Street Metal Massacre Fest in Philadelphia on October 19 with WHIPLASH, BITCH and BONEHUNTER. And of course, we are looking forward to seeing you all at Keep It True 2020 in Germany!”

VULTURES VENGEANCE: ‘Lyrids: Warning From The Reign Of The Untold” To Be Released September 14

Italian epic metal band VULTURES VENGEANCE will release the two-song 7-inch “Lyrids: Warning From The Reign Of The Untold” on September 14 via Gates Of Hell Records.

PRE-ORDER: http://tinyurl.com/ybuff633

The perfect setup for their first full-length album (due in 2019), “Lyrids” features a pair of leftover songs from the band’s 2016 “Where The Time Dwelt In” EP: “Empire Of The Crimson Fields” and “Iron Cave”. Both songs find VULTURES VENGEANCE (who feature guitarist/vocalist Tony T. Steele, new lead guitarist Tony L.A., bassist Matt Savage and drummer Kosathral Khel) digging deep into their NWOBHM roots as well as power metal and thrash, aided by a warm, but raw production job.

Inspired by the “cave myth” from the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, “Into The Cave” takes on fantasy-based heavy metal in the style of OMEN, STEEL ASSASSIN and LIEGE LORD. “Empire Of The Crimson Fields”, on the other hand, features a two-part narrative that tells the story of a noble family awaiting of the birth of the new king. The family eventually conquers an empire, but starts savaging the natives, which is where the story shifts to a commoner who has watched his son killed and his land destroyed. The pain and prayers from this man are eventually heard, placing a curse upon the kingdom. Their points of view converge at the song’s conclusion where both fall into the face of death, neither receiving clarity.

Since their 2015 formation, VULTURES VENGEANCE has become a favorite among European critics and fans, with influential German metal magazine Deaf Forever giving the band’s debut “Rising” demo a glowing review. From there, “Where The Time Dwelt In” only served to further their reputation as a new classic metal band to watch. It is with little doubt “Lyrids: Warning From The Reign Of The Untold” will hold the VULTURES VENGEANCE fanbase over until their first full LP finally arrives next year.

“Lyrids: Warning From The Reign Of The Untold” track listing:

  1. Empire Of Crimson Fields
  2. Into The Cave

VULTURES VENGEANCE ANNOUNCE DEPARTURE OF GUITARIST NAIL; ENLIST REPLACEMENT TONY L.A.

Italian epic fantasy metal outfit VULTURES VENGEANCE have announced the departure of long-time guitarist Nail.

Comments the band: “After seven years, Nail has decided to leave the band due to personal problems. We wish him all the best in his life and future career endeavors. He’s an extremely talented musician and his technique and personality were essential in the development of both the ‘Rising’ demo and ‘Where The Time Dwelt In’ EP.

“It hasn’t been easy to find an adequate replacement, but after a long search we’re happy to introduce Tony L.A., a great guitarist and the perfect personality for a band like VULTURES VENGEANCE. ”

“The new album’s songs are complete and in the coming months we will begin work on our first full-length.”

LEGIONNAIRE’S DEBUT ALBUM OUT ON MAY 26th!

We present you “Black Harbinger“, the first track taken off Legionnaire‘s debut album “Dawn of Genesis“!

This Finnish band’s music is based on powerful twin guitar harmonies, and medieval style epic melodies, with the lyrics influenced by ancient mythology, the middle ages, and also  by fictional themes such as Sci-Fi.

LEGIONNAIRE have a personal sound, though you can hear tons of influences in their  music: old Scandinavian Metal with classic NWOBHM-style galloping riffs and an overall epic feel that brings back to mind US metal bands such as Liege Lord, Brocas Helm and obscure US epic metal release from the mid 80s.

In a few words: traditional Heavy Metal!

“Dawn of Genesis” was mastered by Wicked Ischianus of Mausoleum Gate and will be out on 26/05/2017 on CD, LP and digital.

With bands like LEGIONNAIRE, Heavy Metal will never die!

Recommended for fans of NWOBHM, Liege Lord, Brocas Helm, The Lord Weird Slough Feg, early German power/speed metal.
